Adventure escapade

The sister in-law was here for visit/holiday and we took her to Port Stephens for little adventure and scenic walk.

We were so worried about the weather coz it rained almost everyday during the week and the foggy morning that day didn't look convincing. Tho I kinda love the morning chilliness ;)

As we arrived at Port Stephens, woolahlahhh the sun came out shining brightly and sunnies and sunblock were in good use! :)

The husband put on the beat boxer look, inspired by an Australian Got Talent participant...............................but obviously FAILED! The cap was a turn off :P

Here begins our 1.5 hours quad-biking adventure that I was so so so excited about and looking forward to the weekends because I usually don't go for adventurous activities other than water rafting 2 years back *skeddy cat*

The fun part was my bike got stuck on the little slop (you can see back there) and all I could think was to press the accelerator at maximum speed hoping the bike will move upwards with the force. Well, as I turned to my right a whole lot of sands were splashing pouring on me! YUCKSSS! And apparently my husband was screaming telling me to stop pressing on that damn accelerator but I swear I didn't hear any! That was me being oblivious to the bike mechanism and surroundings *shame*

The sister in-law did a motocross stunt (challenging with the evil brother) and fell right off the bike with a big bruise on the ankle. The husband just stood there at both incidents and laughed his ass off at our foolishness, until today -.-"

Nonetheless, THUMBS-UP to the whole experience :D

We then drove up to Gan Gan Hill, panorama view of  Port Stephens. Apparently it's the highest lookout point in the area.

At Nelson Bay for lunch.

At Fingal Bay for scenic walk and was simply awesome to walk bare foot along the beach for a good hour, the beach sands were so soft and cooling :)

On the way home, I was napping and the husband woke me up for the beautiful sunset view. Thereafter, I stayed up throughout the journey home to accompany the husband :)

My bestie Mei, if you are reading this, we so have to go on a trip together with the other members as one big Sydney family! It'll be so much fun filled with loves and laughters <3

Sight, Colour, Leisure

A day trip to Hunter Valley on Easter Saturday!

Hunter Valley is renowned to both locals and tourists for its varieties of good quality wine and cheese. Well, we are not a wine person to begin with but as moi has not been and heard much about its pretty views, we decided to play tourists for the day :)

Hmm.....not much leisure for the husband actually, had to drive a good long 3 hours (6 hours in total) while I was deep into my sleep :P Was up at 5.30am on a holeeedayyy okay!

Anyhoos, less words and more snapshots below on the picturesque Hunter Valley (as they say, pictures paint a thousand words):

Hunter Valley Garden

top left clockwise: Sunken Garden - Oriental Garden - Rose Garden - Formal Garden - Border Garden

McGuigan and Tempus Two (closest wineries from the garden)

The husband took pretty amazing shots (of me that is)! What you reckon?? heheee

The rest of the weekends was spent with the family and a day slacking at home (simply do nothing!) Ahhhhhh....wish we could have more off days like this!! The joy of having 4 days of pure leisure.................................................

HURRAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sign me up for the next Circus in Town

Caught up with the girls at Quarter Twenty One - have been meaning to patron for ages but never had an occasion to. Well we managed to get a booking so we thought the heck with special occasions.

Pork knuckle, skate fish, wagyu beef, mushroom gnocchi, view from above, berry souffle and UFO creme brulee

Definitely a good night out - part of the ultimate dining experience would include the amazing company.

Also the sis is finally back after being separated for a month and a half. Yay!! So we did a lil catch up with the other best friend at a new place - St Jude's.
Really cool cafe and crowd. Z's actually doing the promo shots for it! *proud of him*

Addiction, danishes, omelets and benedict and sweet corn fritters. Yum yum

I apologize for the food pics that makes you salivate especially at this hour of the night. I get it too.

Not forgetting the outfits of day shots - just because...

In trying to maintain the balance of the insane intake of food and the deterring of our ever-increasing waistlines, this is what we resolved to doing just this past weekend:

Abs crunches on suspended bar.

Hahaha - clearly NOT exciting enough to earn a post.
However Mr. Washboard abs might just do :)

We actually went for trapeze lessons at Olympic Park. Sis got some tickets off Groupon so we finally decided on a day to actually experience some high flying!!

On arrival we inducted on how to get on the bar and hang off our knees and how to swing off it - well more like rushed through it really - because barely 5 minutes into the explanation and with no demonstration, the instructor urged us to head to the ladder and up on the platform god-knows-how-many-stories high!!!

The peeps and I were freaking out in our heads!! Like WHAT?? That's it?? No safety warnings or psych/pep talking??!! HELP??!! Starts making up end of world/death scenarios induced by fear of heights and being suspended mid air.

But we puffed our chests and man-ed up and went up the damn ladder anyways just because we didn't want to give in to vomiting and shitting in our pants!!

Not feeling like the king of the world up there...

So here is a video of my first try - Success!! Obviously - but be warned - I am highly annoying here with the incessant "You got me?" and high pitched shrieks.

Not to bad for my first ever attempt, no? Heh
Could not let go of the bar initially cos I was scared for my life!!

So after 3 more practices, and with waayy more confidence, we all managed to complete a full catch!! Yay!!

The high adrenalin rush is the most amazing feeling in the world!! Loves. Will surely go back for more!! Once I've recovered from shoulder stiffness and sore arms and random bruises that is.

Also, I have one last video of  someone who would not let me live through the next dawn should she ever be named (though you could probably guess anyways)...

 For your viewing pleasure:

She did try!!! And try she did indeed :)

Xx, M.

P/S: I apologize for the crappy video quality. Dang compressing of videos. Better ones next time.

Saya Anak Malaysia

Rolling 2 weeks back, the husband and I went for a little road trip to Cabramatta (an hour drive away) and we stumbled upon Albee's Kitchen which serves authentic Malaysian delights WEEEEE!! This came just about time as we've been craving for the local home favourites!

And they are so YUMMY like the ones back home! We went bonkers (had to keep down our excitement as the waiter speaks) when we heard of another branch just 15 mins away from our place and decided to drop in the following week with the cousins ;)

Now...drool over the delicious lunch we had :)
Prawn Mee - Nasi Lemak Crispy Chicken - Char Kuey Teow - Assam Laksa

We also had Curry Chicken Puffs to take away and stopped by a pastry shop for Baklavas.
OMG such gluttons we are and these are definitely full-on luncheon!!

We are one foodaholic family! <3

We then headed to Coogee Beach for a walk to ease the bulging tummy! Oh and helloooo sunshine, it was a perfect weather with cool breeze! *flicks hair*

Lovess the prints of the tops - just the kind of outfit for the day :)

Check out the below pic of M!!!!!!!!!!!!

I swear this was unintentionally captured!!! Well, I'm guessing she was probably letting loose the sash resulting from the super duper heavy lunch :D

She's definitely not aware whatsoever about this picture but I find it worth an appearance here!! :P

Yippie! Looking forward to Easter break..............
